Subject: To All CM8000 Users outside of North America

Apparently, our folks in Europe have modified the Chessmaster executable without
telling the development team. Therefore, running the CM8000 patch on a version
sold outside North America is very likely to cause CM8000 to stop working
completely.

Therefore, if you live outside North America, DO NOT DOWNLOAD AND RUN THE PATCH!
If you have already done so, you will have to uninstall and reinstall the
program entirely.

Hopefully, a European version of the patch will be possible, and that it will be
made available very soon (likely by the end of next week).

The development team apologizes for this "bug" (and is at least taking solace
that it is not their fault, for a change ;-), especially to all of you fast
downloaders that were affected by it.

So, once again, if you live outside North America, STAY AWAY FROM THE PATCH
UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE!
