Shredder 5 can't be used like a Winboard engine. You only have two choices to
play via ICS.

1) Manually, open a winboard console, and open shredder, and make the moves by
hand.

2) Two computers, using the Winboard auto232 adapter.

That is all.

If I am wrong, someone will surely correct me.
