I don't have Chessmaster so I cannot comment on the book, however a good way to
check for holes is to simply run matches against other programs. If you look at
the matches in Cadaques
(http://www.computerschach.de/tourn/cad2001/cad2001.htm), you will see that a
number of programs had nasty opening book holes revealed. Unfortunately for
Chessmaster, to do this it would require auto232 support, as doing them manually
would be just too much work. Another thing is that by adding auto232 support,
you will make a lot of people happy. The general public may not care too much,
but other aficionados will thank you. It's for this reason alone that you never
hear about matches between Chessmaster and other programs; not because anyone
doubts its strength.
