I own CM6000, rather than CM8000, so I apologize in advance if my comments are irrelevant. The weakness of the opening books in CM6000, from my standpoint, isn't that the lines are bad (I'm not a strong enough player to evaluate that), but that the number of lines is so small compared with other top programs.
