It's also easier to put together a faster computer for PC operating systems than it is for Mac OS. For all I know, it may be posible to assemble a dual or quad Mac computer, but I've never heard of it being done. IMO, the REAL fastest computers (ok, I'm ignoring the mainfram hardware, I know) is built on the PC hardware. As for the consumer Macs or PCs, I don't know, does Mac REALLY have the fastest, or is that just their publicity speaking that says they have the fastest? >Also how come they are never used in any >computer chess wars. i would love to see if there is a diferents in ratings >beteen the top mac computers and top ibm compatible computers useing all the top >programs. There are several serious Mac Chess programmers, but I'm pretty sure that there are more serious PC Chess programmers. Probably because PCs are in general a more dirt under the fingernails type of computer. But you can't ever count Apple out of the game, after all, many never expected them to survive the last few years, and they're still going strong. Pete
