On my G3-233 at work, Hiarcs 7.0 hits around 40 knps (if my memory is correct),
that's about the speed of a 400 MHz PII (since it hits around 60 knps on my
PIII-550s). The fastest Mac around (the G4-500) will probably perform relatively
better (been too lazy to check :), but likely not be faster than an Athlon 1200
for chess.
