So think about this, and maybe you feel better: I have been in your situation
for years.
If there had not been all the good programs that were beating mine all the time,
I would have stopped working on Tiger since a long time.
But there were Genius, Rebel, Fritz, CM4000 and others. And each time my program
lost to one of these, I was extremely furious.
This has been keeping me working on Tiger late at night, for years.
So I would say: you are on the right track! ;)
