I see, each position represents the advancement of one move. But isn't it true
that when you do a test suite, what is given are positions and not the whole
game? If you feed the chess engine the whole PGN file, how would it know which
was the position you were going to test?

Hmm by reading you mean if you feed it a EPD position it can interprete and
display the board position and run analysises etc.. but it cannot write it,
means it cannot convert a given position to EPD? But I suppose for Winboard
compatiable programs, winboard itself would help "lend" EPD capabilities anyway?
