Looks like a Crafty win over Hiarcs, barring any blunders. Also the Rebel 9 vs CM5500 is reaching a critical point in the following position: 1r4k1/6pp/8/3P1p2/4p3/1pP1P1P1/5P1P/3R2K1 w - - id"Rebel 9 - Chessmaster 5500"; Rebel can go wrong here with c4 and c5 but the simple plan of moving the king to f1 then e2 looks like a winning plan. For awhile Rebel 8 likes f3 but later switches to Kf1. I don't see any point to this f3 move as black can reply Kf7. How do other programs assess this epd position? Crafty has vindicated itself from the Paris tournament as it is reaching comfortable positions in all of its games. Anyone know why the Crafty vs Rebel game is so delayed? Good endgame play seems especially important in computer vs computer play. So many programs are on an equal playing field that the majority of games will now reach endgames.
