Yace 0.99.08 - P.ConNerS (0-1)
IPCC-2001, Paderborn (2), 21.02.2001

[D]8/4k1p1/5p2/KP6/P7/4r2p/3R4/8 w - - 0 1

Probably the point where Yace could have drawn the game.
Black's last move is 41...h3 and Yace responded with 42. b6?!

Is there any program that considers 42.Rb2?

I thought 42.Rb2 can draw the game, with the following analysis:

[42.Rb2!! probably difficult to see because it is clear that black's king can
reach the b8 square, and in addition the rook has abondoned the important d-file
which cuts off the black king.
42...Kd7 43.b6 Re8 generally using a rook to stop the passed pawn may not be
good, but this is probably the interesting line

(the other alternative is
43...Kc8?! 44.Ka6! threatening to play Ka7
44...Kb8 45.Rd2! black is suddenly in trouble
45...Re8 46.Rd7 not an ordinary rook in the 7th rank
46...h2 47.Rb7+ Kc8 (If 47...Ka8 then simply 48.Ra7+ Kb8 49.Rb7+= with perpetual
check)
48.Rc7+ Kb8 (48...Kd8?? 49.Rc1!)
49.Rb7+=)

44.Kb5 freeing the a-pawn
44...Rh8!
a)44...Kc8 45.a5 Re5+ 46.Ka6 g5 47.Rc2+ Kb8 48.Rc7 Re8 49.Rb7+=;
b)44...Re5+? 45.Ka6 Kc8 46.Rh2±;

45.Rh2 g5 46.Ka6 Ra8+ (46...g4 47.b7 f5 48.Ka7 f4 49.a5 g3 50.Rxh3 g2 51.Rxh8
g1Q+ 52.Ka8=) 47.Kb5 g4 48.b7 Rg8 (48...Rb8?? 49.Kb6 f5 50.a5+-) 49.Kb6 g3
50.Rxh3 g2 51.Rd3+ Ke6 52.Rd1 g1Q+ 53.Rxg1 Rxg1 54.a5 Rb1+ 55.Kc7 Rc1+ 56.Kb6
Rb1+ 57.Kc7=]
