I know that gandalf earns more nodes speed from fast hardware. I guess that for Gandalf 933 MHz is at least 3 times faster than your 500 Mhz when for other programs it is less than twice faster. I do not have 933Mhz and 500Mhz machines but my guess is based on the fact that I used gandalf in PIII 800 Mhz(windows2000) and pIII450Mhz (windows98) and I fooud that gandalf was more than twice faster on the PIII 800. Gandalf likes the pentium and I read that the k6-2 450 that the ssdf is using is even slower than the pentium for gandalf. Gandalf is also slower under chessbase. The problem is mainly in blitz and I see small number of nodes per second and only after some time the number of nodes per second is increasing. >b) or that his indifferent style againts human make it good againts computers? Gandalf has a symmetric evaluation and it is not the best idea against humans. It does not try to get open postions with tactics. >c) or that they are running a far better version that my G version? They are running a different version than your g version. >Who have the answer to my question? >Fernando I hope that I have an answer. Uri
