mpipc.com has: 933mhz xeon processors that can be configured for four way or
two way. with 933 x four should hit about 2300-2400 kns.
pentium lll 1000 mhz processor. toms hardware shows this can
overclock to 1100 mhz with air cooling. so dual 1100 mhz should hit about 1870
kns.
ocz.safeshopper.com: pentium 4 1400 mhz overclocked to 1700 mhz. should hit
about 1530 kns.
amd t-bird 1200 mhz overclocked to 1530 mhz. this should hit
about 1377 kns. but these last two processors are not air cooled. they are
blown, bored out, cammed, carbed, clearanced, and geared up with no warranty.
remember speed cost money----and todays speed will be slow tommorrow. and
while you are at it, these systems will need at least 1 gig of the best ram you
can find, if you plan on playing long tournament games. my hotrod chess pc
motto: dont buy it unless it has warning stickers that say "requires ear
protection and a scattershield while using".
