Subject: Fritz 5.00 vs. 5.01 - Louguet results

Author: Kai Lübke

Date: 02:24:57 03/12/98

I have just finished the Louguet II test suite with
the 5.01 update from the Junior CD.
It yields 2470 points on my machine, which is 5 points better than
Fritz 5.00 (both running on a P6-200 with 32 MB hash).

The interesting thing is that the two versions seem to be quite
different as for example LCTPOS 3 is solved by 5.00 in 5:08 but not by
5.01, whereas POS12 is not solved by 5.00 while 5.01 only takes 0:08 to
solve it.

Full details will be available in a few days on my site at

http://www.mi.uni-koeln.de/~kluebke/chess/index.html

(part of the data is already there)
