Also the AUTO232 from Stefan as used in Nimzo and Shredder don't do that. >Maybe this is the reason why Rebel gets "confused" and doesn't save the >game. IMO Rebel has nothing to do with it. The REB6AUTO.COM auto232 driver is responsible for that. I don't like the idea that the chessbase auto232 software apparently can influence the Rebel driver. Maybe Stefan or Andreas can say something about this as I don't have a clue how such a thing can happen. I always understood that at the time of the 'time out' (/t) REB6AUTO.COM just sends the right keyboard strokes to Rebel in order to save the game in the Rebel database. Is the above a wrong conclusion? >Maybe also the Rebel 8 "mini-learn" feature gets confused by this >(although I don't believe that this was the intention behind this >behaviour ... I don't think that the ChessBase guys even know about the >R8 "mini-learn" ...) I checked my source code. Sofar I can't find anything that proves this thought. The "R8 mini-learn" as well as the "R9 book learner" are not influenced by the chessbase autoplayer white, black, white behavior. Still I would like to hear Matthias explanations about this. a) Why aren't Rebel games not saved? b) Why this "white, black, white" behavior? Sofar I must conclude that this behavior does not disturb the Rebel9 learner. But what about other programs? - Ed Schroder -
