Once again, the bonus added to Chessmaster's rating is based on CURRENT
"available" processor speed. This is why the rating bounces around a few points
on the same system, depending on what else is running at the time (and what else
Windows randomly decides to be doing when the test is done). RAM has nothing
(directly) to do with it.

I just did a simple test, and on my P3-600, I got a 2848, meaning that 124
points were added based on the test. This means that my processor is close to 4
times faster than the base processor, a P2-233, according to the test. If the
bonus was changed to 30 points per doubling (as suggested elsewhere), then the
bonus would be approximately 50 points, giving a result of around 2775 (USCF).

I never really gave it any thought but it is probably a very good test of the
efficiency of your machine. I knew it would be good for something!
