To be honest, I don't remember very specifically what I did, but basically, I
made a directory on my harddrive called "tablebse", what you call it though,
doesn't matter all that much.

Now, you want to get the tablebases copied from the CD to that directory, so
find them on the CD (I don't remember where they are, but it'll be an obvious
directory on there as I recall). You'll want to use Windows Explorer and not
the File Manager, the File Manager would mess up the file names on you.

So, on the CD highlight all the tablebase files, then hit "Ctrl C" to copy them
(the Control key and the C key at the same time).

Now, select the new directory on the harddrive that you've already created to
put them in, double click on it so that the directory is open.

Now, hit "Ctrl V" to paste the files into the directory, and they should all get
copied into the new directory, it might take a while.

That's PROBABLY how I copied them to the harddrive, but I don't know for sure,
it's been a few months, and I never take notes.

OK, but now you gotta put something like this into your file "chssbase.ini" to
tell Fritz or whatever Chessbase program you have how to find the tablebases,
and you gotta tell it a Cache size.

[Tablebase]
CacheSizeKB=16384
Path=C:\Tablebse

I don't know if my "CacheSizeKB" is a good size, I don't know how I came up with
that number.

Most people here have been using Fritz or Junior or (whatever) longer than I
have, so if they have other advice, you might want to follow what they have to
say about doing this, because I just didn't pay much attention while I was doing
it, and I don't have all that much background with using Fritz.

But I hope that helped somewhat.

Pete
