Difficult to say what the problem might be. Judging from user comments that I've
received, the most probable reasons is either:

1) Incorrect bookpath. Make sure that all three bookfiles are placed in the
c:\chessbase\Engines\Gandalf folder.

2) The bookfiles are Read-only, which they frequently are after being copied
from CD. Remove Read-only from properties.

3) I don't know if missing items in the res file affects performance (doubtful),
so a suggestion would be to use this one instead:

LEARNING 1
DRAW 99 99
CONTEMPT 0
RESIGN 7 6
TB
BOOKPATH c:\chessbase\Engines\Gandalf
HASH 32
TBCACHE

That's all I can think of at the moment.
