I see those tournaments as a testing ground for new versions and as
such see no problem with changing anything. My opinion is when using
software that is released it should be the latest released verion,
especially for people like you and I and others that run tournaments
of our own.

My opinion also on a similar subject, using engine parameters as you are
without those parameters known or released is also worthless, again except for
the programmer of the engine assuming they know the settings.
