Steve,

The only thing rich on this site is the superior intellects that we bring here.
Being wealthy is nice but I am not wealthy. I live a frugal life and drive an
old pickup truck so that I can afford a new computer every three years. When I
was younger, richer and more stupid I would buy a new machine at $3000.00 or
more every year. Now I eat more fruits, vegetables and pasta and enjoy my leisure
time more.

I just cannibalized my older P-166Mhz computer and added part of its memory to
my newer NEC P-333Mhz machine. I plan to upgrade to a newer faster machine with
more bells and whistles and a giant 22 to 24 inch monitor sometime soon.
The thrill of a new computer is akin to that of owning a plush Mercedes. I
never did but I don't envy those who can throw $160,000 at a salesman and say
"I want it with pearl and ebony interior detailing."

So save more than you spend. Put money in 401Ks and IRAs. Drive an old
well-maintained pickup truck. Acquire a certain level of wealth and then take a
mid-life vacation. You don't need to travel to exotic places. Love what you
do.
