I hope to narrow the gap between it and Crafty from over 20 times slower to around 5 times slower. I am applying, coding and re-checking any techniques I could know and always compare them with Crafty. I have learnt some basic techniques from some old books and TSCP, but almost all advance techniques of searching from Crafty – I admire Dr. Haytt about it. I am a researcher (but not in this topic), therefore my purpose is not to build “the king of chess”. I do all thing just for my curious and fun. Then I hope to help some my students, both theory and practising by giving them some good instructions how to learn and how to implement a chess program. I also hope to make some new contributions in Chinese chess, on which much fewer people are working and it seems not to be treat as a topic of science. Pham
