Have you tried installing the patch?
All my tests on a T-bird 1.3ghz indicates that the CM8 engine is stronger
than the previous, but not by a large margin. By now the CM8 team must have
realized that the demand for ever stronger engines are the primary concern with
the hardcore cpuchess fans, but we should not forget that CM8 is not targeted at
betatesters and people like me who dont really gives a foot if the gui is pretty
in 16 bit oooh so many features which by the way is almost the same since CM6,
so if you like playingstrenght you should go with chessbase, Shredder
Rebel, Gandalf etc...(yes i know i left some out, shame on me!!) If you want a
bugless program, then you are out of luck, 'cause there ain't no such prog, but
from my experience chessbase have the fewest, if you want to learn and improve
your game CM?-8 is probably the best on the the market at just that, so i guess
in conclusion it is important to get your prioryties str8 b4 buying a new prog,
i learned the hard way, i mean buying a prog which (however cheap it might be
compared to other progs) are so full of bugs that you can only play a game at a
certain timecontrol and you have to do all sorts of "tweaks and twirls" to get
around the simplest things like setting hastables etc... you wait forever for
the patch and when it arrives it destroys your install, because they "just found
out" that the european ver. was slightly different and that their affiliates
overseas had made the changes without informing them hmmmmmmm
That BUGS me and i need a patch :-)

Jonas
