Why should they? Deep Fritz is a different generation. On the other hand, Fritz
6a and subsequent improved versions of the engine were indeed offered to users
for free. If you doubt the _significant_ difference in strength, test the
original unpatched engine and compare it with the latest patched version. On the
other hand, it must also be noted that when F6 first came out (unpatched), it
came under a lot of fire for not being any stronger than its predecessor F5.32.

When Rebel Tiger buyers bought their program, they obtained exactly what had
been promised them, and hence have absolutely no grounds whatsoever to complain.
Anything Rebel decides to do or offer beyond that is a bonus and exclusively at
their discretion.
