Thanks for your reply, Dan Corbit,James Walker,Uri Bass, Lauence Chen.
Yes, i do agree with the things all of you said.
But, Hmmmmm, i would have thought that a new program as high rated as Shredder5
runing on a system like AMD k6-2/500 vs an older progam on a P.200 would have
better results at any time control, than it did. However, it was only 5 games
at 5 sec. per move and 5 games at 30 sec. per move. Not a lot of games to get a
clear idea of the strengh of Shredder 5, i admit.
Also, the P.200 with 64 megs of ram, is on win.3.1 with no other programs loaded
on the computer, except Genius 5., So,__ this computer has really nothing else
to run but Genius !! As for the AMD, it's loaded with over 6 gigs of
everything from A to Z. So, the processer has many other things to run besides
Shredder !!
But, i am going to shut down as many programs runing in the background as i can
and i am going to have a match at 40/2 for 10 games just to see.
Shredder ver.4 runs real good, and has won most every game i have set up to play.
However, it is my belief, that these high rated progams are only gaining a
couple of rating points per rev; change, so, these older progams like Genius5
are going to win or draw a certain percentage of games at any time control.
I guess we are looking for the one program that nothing and no one can beat and,
if you were to play the most perfect game, the most you could hope for would be
a draw !! Will we ever get there in are life time ??
I want DEEP SHREDDER !!! lololololol, Hmmmm is it the one ??
Again, thanks for your reply__
Earl
