My memory may be wrong but it was released just prior to christmas.
It must be remembered that the great interface with is now Fritz 6,
Nimzo 8, Junior 6 and Deep Fritz came from this release, and IMO this
was a significant improvement over Fritz 5.32 interface.

As far as the engine itself, it was trying to be better than Fritz 5.32
which even to this date is rated 5th by the SSDF still above recently released
programs. IMO the original eng which Chessbase let you keep and called Fritz6Old
it is about equal with Fritz 5.32 though that's naturally debatable.
