I have no idea how CM8000 would perform in a knock-out tournament. As with any tournament like that, there is much more luck involved in winning (better matchups, avoiding one single mistake that knocks you out, etc.) than there is in round-robin or swiss tournaments. I would SUSPECT that, if there were 64 engines, CM8000 would, at the very least, make it to the "Elite Eight". But, that my be a biased opinion.... ;-) If you can show me a move in a GM book that was never played by that GM, then I will pass it on to the development team. jm
