No, it's not. Chess is the original goal (= engine + opening theory
+ endgame theory + much more). Also for your customers.

And with respect to Fritz 5, I don't know exactly what has
been going on with this SSDF testing. The customer should be
able to get the same version as used in SSDF testing, I agree
with that. For the rest I'm not so impressed by the Fritz engine.

Hiarcs, Mchesspro, and Rebel seem to have the best
'engines', but they often have big differences in evaluations
of different positions.
Increasing speed (Deep Blue) is one solution;
for personal computers, it's not so easy.
But at least fair chances for every program should be allowed.
Included book-learning; which, I repeat, is not cheating.
It's not that important, either. Unless it would be
done properly ofcourse;
but that's not as easy it is often thought to be
Again, ask Kasparov, I would say; he seems to be interested
in 'advance chess' (using a PC); so maybe you can tell him
to switch off opening books :)
