This then would be fair. I think that equal machines will be fair. If both tiger and Crafty gets quad then I see nothing unfair. If both tiger and Crafty get one CPU then I also see nothing unfair. The word "best program" is not clear because it is dependent on the hardware. You cannot escape from it even if you use one CPU because there are programs that like more the PIII and there are programs that like more other machines. I know that some programs like fast pentium and are more than twice faster on PIII800 relative to PIII450 when other programs are less than twice faster on PIII800. It is possible that A is better than B on p800 when B is better than A on p450. Which program is better? There is no answer for it because the question is not clear. Uri
