Keep in mind two things. One, each extra engine must be bought separately unless
you had in mind one of the many freeware but weaker engines. Two, Chessbase can
certainly run the engines but it doesn't have any automatic analytic features
such as going through your game for blunders, or automatically analyzing your
games. I mention this as there was someone in the newsgroup
rec.games.chess.computer screaming bloody murder as he had expected Chessabse to
have these. If this isn't a factor fine, but if that was what you had in mind
then you might consider either getting one of the Chessbase playing programs
such as Fritz or Junior (http://www.chessbase.com), or the newly released Chess
Assistant 6 (http://www.chessassistant.com), which is a database program such as
Chessbase (it reads CB files also) and does have diverse analytical features. As
to the engines, Chessbase 8 comes with Fritz 6 I believe, and Chess Assistant 6
comes with Tiger 13 and Tiger Gambit, also benefitting from the much screamed
about Tiger upgrades to be released in the near future. As for multiple
commerical engines, Chessbase and Fritz and company accept any other Chessbase
engine (Deep Fritz, Junior, Nimzo, etc.), whereas Chess Assistant, apart from
the Tigers, allows one to use the Millenium format engines (Shredder, Wchess,
Gandalf, etc.)
