Peter, most people would have trouble setting up windows from scratch. However if you can do that then installing SuSE linux 7.1 (personal) should be just as easy and it will cost you about $20. ;-)) www.suse.com I bet some other distros are also very easy to setup. For all new-to-linux, please do your self a favor and buy a distribution! SuSE, RedHat, Debian, Slackware, anything ... you'll save lots of time and efforts. Latter you-new-to-linux will learn how to download and install software packages from the internet and also (if you want) how to compile the kernel with optimizations for your own CPU, how to compile software packages optimaized ... etc. Meanwhile, just have fun. ;-) cheers. hristo
