Why do you think that Tiger and Gandalf are better than other programs in the opening phase. The only proof that they are better is if they can win other programs with no book. I know that Tiger lost against Deep Fritz on ICC against the opening of 1.h4 and 2.h5 so I guess that Deep Fritz is better in the opening phase without book. The new Tiger may be better but it is not public. Uri
