It might be a cultural thing also. In the north of Sweden where I am living and also learnt chess, there seems to be an inordinatelly large number of attacking players. It might be so for the rest of the country also, as Ulf Andersson and Gideon Stålberg were the odd ducks out, compare to: Tiger,Hector,Stoltz,Lundin, Åkesson and the list goes on. GM Andersson was quite the attacking player when he was quite young though. Regards Dan Andersson
