Subject: Chess Contest upcoming in June for Winboard compatible engines

Author: Dann Corbit

There will be a new chess contest starting in June, 20001 similar to 'the battle
of the crowns' in some respects.

It will be a long time control contest (40 moves in two hours + 2 hours more to
finish).

There will be no substitutions to the chess engines once the contest has begun.

All engines entered in the contest must be available publicly without charge.
All opening books used must also be available without cost.

If you would like your engine entered in the contest (or if you would
specifically NOT like to have your engine entered) I would like to hear from
you.

I will require a testing period to ensure that your engine does not emit illegal
moves, refuse legal moves, or crash frequently. Your program should operate
under Windows 2000 (or a port should be available which does).
