First, someone has to design a quantum algorithm to do a chess search. I do not
know if that is already done, but it is highly non-trivial.
The wonder of quantum computing is that it allows to reduce the computational
complexity of the problems. But quantum algorithms are some sort of very subtle
parallel algorithms, it is not like simply porting the code.
I must add that I am not an expert on quantum computing.
