The SSDF is not very well known outside those who read rgcc or ccc. If you are concerned that someone used advantageous tools, and hence is going to be able to sell more copies because of the rating it obtained, then I think you're worrying too much. If you want to sell your computer chess programs, then advertise (: About the only programs I see advertised (on the American side of the house) are MChess Pro 7, Chessmaster 5500, and Fritz 5. I have yet to see an ad for Nimzo 98 or Shredder 2.0. The other programs, like Genius, Rebel, and Hiarcs used to have some ads, but I just haven't seen them recently. I suppose the cost of advertising in a chess magazine is more than the profit they'd make. Baldo.
