Hello Thom, CM8K requires DirectX 7.0a not 8.0a. It's on the CM8K CD. I've seen utilities to remove DirectX 8.0 somewhere (can't remember at the moment). I did use it once and it worked; of course, not supported by Microsoft. Hope this helps, Rich >Chuck, > >Is there anyway you can post something formatted similar to the output from >CM8K? The problem with CM8K is that it requires DirectX Ver. >8. I am reluctant to upgrade from Ver. 6 to 8 on my new computer. I had lots >of problems with WINDOWS 98 on my old Pentium 200. I had more than my share of WINDOZE >reinstalls on my old computer. My motto now is "If it ain't broke, don't try to >fix it." My new Pentium III-866 has been running just fine since October.
