Subject: Strange things with computeraccounts!

Hello all

I am having a computeraccount running on ICC for about 2 days now. I want to
report some strange (in fact funny) things that i recognized with this account.
I made about 80 to 100 games with a time control of 5 0. I didnt count the
number exactly but about 5 to 10 of this games where played against different
humans with a rating between 1200 to 1800. Because i am watching every single of
these games i realized that these people play chess from a different star. Every
move right into the ponder. The opening moves are played as fast and deep as my
computer plays them. If half of the playing time is over i tell the opponent a
sentence like: "WOW you are playing VERY good for a 1500 rated Player. I will
store everything and send this to an admin. Maybe you will earn some extra
points". At this point (till now) the next move needs a little bit more time
than the ones before (of course only because the player has to read my message)
and after that EVERY player is starting to blunder. :-)))

I am asking myself why these people doing things like that. I cant believe that
they do this to have virtual points on a virtual server somewhere in the world?
Does anyone has a better explanaition? Is there someone who has a similar
experiences? Pls post here.

Bye and stay fair
Ingo Bauer
