Cheating is definitely a problem we have to deal with, and I'm not sure if I agree with any method of detecting it, short of making everyone use a web cam. That would change things! But I don't like ICC's idea of having blitzin monitor someone's computer. In America we generally view that as Invasion of Privacy. My concern there is what will it be monitoring next? The one point on which I do object, however, is the kibitzing remark you mentioned (doing it during the game). If you were playing the game yourself, or against another computer account, I wouldn't complain. I would not complain if you made the kibitz after the game, either. But it's not at all fair to your human opponent during the game. And, of course, his doing something wrong does not make it OK. If you think someone is cheating please report it after the game. This is not a best solution, I agree, but in the even you might be wrong, perhaps it's best not to be hasty. By the way, it seems to me that ICC has the stongest 1500-rated players in the world, although I would expect computer cheating to be roughly as common on any given server. This is a curious observation, indeed. Regards, Chuck
