Hello Bruce >I think that people rated 1500 who play 5 0 with computers are unlikely to be >cheaters. It's hard to play 5 0 manually. It's pretty easy to spot them when >they do, but I think that someone who has only been running a computer account >for a few days probably has a better than 50% mistake ratio. > >Some players know a reasonable amount about openings. And people rated >1200-1800 on ICC aren't necessary rated 1200-1800 in real life. I was rated >2020 or so in real life (USCF) and about 1750 on ICC, for example. I can play >15 or 20 moves of Ruy Lopez or various Sicilians but I'll still make mistakes in >the middlegame. Which it sounds like is exactly what you are seeing. I really hope you are right but what I meant was that they run a computeraccount without having it registered at ICC. I believe that they will not play with this comp against humans but to earn some points against another comp seems to be easy . Especialy if you know that my comp was rated only about 2000 because of several resons! But i playeed about 100 games and because of that low rating of my account most of it against humans, and only 5% to a maximum of 10% are much stronger than expected! Bye Ingo
