Don't forget the distinction Strongest ChessPlayer or Highest Rated ChessPlayer
not being the "World Champion" They use this term reguarding Kasparov i think we
can use it when we talk about Insomniac, Gandalf 4.32h ,Gromit or Deep Fritz
or whoever fits the bill.

I think also we should quit wasting precious nodes and try for once a
slow/intellegent software on really fast hardware, I feel this gives us the
reference material to further compare fast "bean" counters to the slow huristic
type programs. I know Hiarcs isn't exactly the best program out there but it
would be interesting to see how much depth it needs to compete with GM's.
Or in the case of positional play I don't have a complete list of programs so
let me know if i leave one out. Gandalf 4.32h, Phallanx22, Gromit3.8?,
Hiarcs7.32, SOS, ANMON. i am not even sure if any of these are considered pure
positional programs as Hiarcs being my first example sees under 100knps on
pIII 500 - 800Mhz Athlon so Although Gandalf has better nodes per second is it
considerd a slow/smart program, who decides this anyway??

thanks
