The fact that it once worked and no longer does leads me to believe that
something must have changed on your machine (other than formatting your hard
drive). When did it last work? Were ANY hardware/driver settings changed, or any
new hardware/software installed, around then?

Why, exactly, did you decide (or need) to format your hard drive?

Also, what version of Windows are you running?
