It appears as if the CM8K (patched or unpatched) likes to play the King's Gambit, but doesn't know the Falkbeer counter gambit. It has to calculate after 1.e4 e5 2.f4 d5. - Of course, this opening has not been forgotten; the CM8000.obk contains a long line until the 12th move actually. But CM doesn't access these book moves. Btw. this problem occured during the computer tournament held in Aufseß, Germany, recently.
