I just bought Chessmaster 800 and have begun to install it. After installation and restarting the computer, when I began to run the program I got the message the the "Direct X" was not compatible with my current OS (I use Windows 200 Pro). So I went to Chessmater.com and downloaded a path. I dowloaded the patch to the folder I installed Chessmaster and had it run. The patch did upgraded the software--it was successfully installed; however, after I tried running Chessmaster again, now I get a different kind of error message, "A fatal error occurred initializing sound playback. The program will now terminate." My thought, did the patch actually fixed the "Direct X" problem and that the new error message is just another problem I have to fix? Does the new message error have to do something with my hardware? Can anybody help me with this? I'd appreciate it very much!
