Subject: HELP urgent!, to upgrade from K6-3-400 to Pent.3 866mhz? or no point?

I need to know during these hours if I should bother upgrading from AMD k6-3
400mhz. to Pentium 3, Intel, 866mhz. together with, maybe a faster newer hard
drive of about 20 ghz, from about 10 ghz?
  Will it atleast double speed for most chess programs (Tiger, Rebel, Fritz
etc)?
 Will it also be beneficial in all other ways?
 Any thing less beneficial?
Thanks alot for any advice, and I need to know quick.
