This is a non-issue . I hope it was clear I haven't been critizing Schroeder BV
for a delayed update ; when it is about announced release dates it's simply
amusing sometimes but not worth discussing to any length .

This is a question that could be answered by Mr Theron : money comes to mind
when it is about this decision .

This year was a year of competition I think : there was the Rebel 11 release ,
CM 8000 and Shredder 5 .

Every package was competitive to the Chessbase products by its own right .

There was _no_ Fritz 7 , _no_ Junior 7 , _no_ Hiarcs 8 , to talk about the top
shots of the company .

Let's imagine a Shredder/Chessbase engine now after Tiger went Chessbase .

I think sales for the competitors are over then . Yes , there is some new
version release under a different GUI but if you can't afford spending unlimited
amounts of money for chessprograms it's easy : just wait for the new engine to
be released as a Chessbase engine ; it's JUST like hardcover and paperback . And
: if the engine isn't released Chessbase you know : it's simply not worth
thinking about ; probably it simply sucks .

Well , but what happens when only Chessbase and non-competitive competitors are
left ; who is the one who has to suffer ? The users ? Definitely no ( maybe
programs become a _little_ more expensive , so what ) . Might be the commercial
programmers left then .

In fact after reading all these answers I am positive that's just the way to go
: users seem to love it .

I don't know why exactly I feel offended that much by this idea : probably I got
infected by some LINUX virus .
