I think the moderation policy is off topic.
I was making a joke to illustrate, but I'm sorry it wasn't funny.
No, it wasn't about any other thing you said, or about any of our
other exchanges.
I will describe a difficult problem, and then I will propose the cure:
The problem is that complaints about off-topic threads are themselves
off-topic. Those who complain are presumably trying to be helpful, but
the debates about what is or is not off-topic, or distasteful, or
whatever, just prolong and draw more attention to the original "offense".

Many times, I would like to complain, but I'm restrained by the above
principle- my complaint would just compound the problem. So, I say nothing.
Well, I'm tired of STUPID posts like the above by Roy Beam, and I suddenly
developed an attitude problem. Sorry.
(A little earlier, Thorsten started ranting about capitalism again. This
makes me very angry, because __I__ am not permitted to rant about politics.
It makes me angry because I know that he knows that he is committing an
unkindness against all of those who are voluntarily restraining themselves
in the interest of having a nice computer-chess newsgroup. I was very
angry, but my reply consisted, properly, of the heading "Moderation (NT)".
This way, I can register a complaint without becoming a self-annointed
moderator, adding to the problem. A little later came the STUPID post by
Roy Beam, in brilliant contrast. It isn't right.)

Best wishes, Bye.
