I did not change the subject to off topic only because of the norm not to change the subject. There is a good reason usually not to change the title of the subject during a discussion. People can get confused from changing the subject. People can see posts without understanding that they are part of the same subject. Inspite of this I think that in this case I was wrong in not changing the subject because the subject was changed by Roy Beam to something that is a personal attack against Bruce Moreland. Roy could express the opinion against using the word that bruce used without attacking bruce in the subject. 2)People discuss off topic discussion that are not about moderation here. I did not complain about it because I did not think that my complain is going to change things. I also do not use the rule not to respond to off topic posts here because it is part of the norms here but I think that it is better to change the norms. Changing the norms can help people who want to discuss about computer chess and do not want to see often irrelevant discussions. I do not try to prevent people to discuss about off topic posts with people from this club because I suggest that people can write off topic in the subject and post off topic information+a link to another forum. In this way off topic posts are not going to be a significant part of the posts of this computer chess club(unless someone posts a lot of off topic posts in order to cause problems and in this case the first post is also going to be deleted).
