The programmers simply stopped developing their program. I do not think that it has something to do with mephisto. What happened to mchess or to cstal? There is also not a new version of these programs in the last years. > >name the products they made after mepisto took over. >btw: when saitek took over mephisto, what were the innovative new developments ? >nothing. >saitek has the same problems. all they have learned is how to kill. >but not how to survive themselves. >when a bigger fish comes, they are dead because they have no idea what the >customers want. > > >>Common sense tells me that the fact that tiger is going to be an engine for >>chessbase is relevant only to the interface of tiger. > > > >>Chessbase did not forbid christophe to develop tiger. > > >?!? how many units hiarcs have been sold AFTER chessbase sold hiarcs in their >user interface for less money ? >how many ? what do you think is the reason mark uniacke is not at the top >anymore ? his very good deals with chessbase ? pah. I believe that the reason is simply the fact that other programmers worked harder on their program. I prefer to see every engine to be an engine for every interface. Tiger is engine for Chessbase is good news. If chessbase makes Fritz to be an engine for Rebel then it will be also good news. Uri
