I have a P4 1.5Ghz. I have _safely_ overclocked mine to 1.88Ghz using the
Swiftech MC462. This heatsink & fan keep my CPU cooler @ 1.88Ghz, than the
stock h & f did @ 1.5Ghz.

Basically, I just went into my BIOS and up'ed the bus speed to 105mhz. YES, the
P4's have a 400mhz FSB, but in reality, that is just 4 buses, all @ 100mhz. So
4 * 105 = 420mhz FSB. Make sure you have significant case cooling as well.

I have been running this computer, stable @ 1.88Ghz for sometime now, and have
seen no ill side effect. I use Windows 2K and it's not unusual for it to be up
for 2 weeks at a time. And using 100% of the processor 90% of the time.

Swiftech provides the best heatsink & coolers, you might want to check their
page. If you built it yourself (like I did mine) then you will be able to
overclock it. If it is a Dell or Gateway, you will not be able to. Those
manufacturers block all setttings changes for the bus speeds, multipliers and
such.

Hope this helps.
