If you have fritz, the easiest way is to go to fritz mark. Then run the
fritzmark test. It will give you a score, and your general NPS for that run.
In true games, I average from 950 - 1200 K nps. I have even see it hit 1700K
towards the endgame. Another great way to get general nps, is to play a game,
or to enter in a common position, and watch the output window. It will update
itself every 30 seconds or so, however, the deeper the search the longer it will
take. If in 30 seconds of search time, you see 3000K nodes, this would tell you
simply that you are searching approx. 1000K nodes per second.

In my bios, I hit the delete key to enter my bios. I don't know what kind of
computer it is, but I think I would get a locally techie to help you from there.
You _can_ do some serious damage in your bios, without ever knowing it. Also
read the articles that others have recommended. Toms Hardware,
www.overclockers.com and so forth.

Good Luck!
