  Hi Terje
     I'm in exactly the same quandary as you. I've got a Pentium4
  with 128mg PC600 RD Ram. I've put in a bid on ebay (US) for 256mb
  RD ram 800mhz. I got an email back confirming my bid, but it was'nt high
  enough to meet the reserve. I'll only buy if it's a bargain.
    I'm guessing you've got about 128mb ram already, and most chess
  programs don't support hash tables big enough for you to benefit
  from more.
    Read an earlier thread regarding overclocking. I think this might
  be your way to go, if you have'nt done it already.
